From environmentalists' perspective
This time we will focus on the issues of food waste from environmental perspective.
As an environmentalists, I also regard this problem as the one that must be solved as soon as possible. There are some examples of environmental movement related to food waste. In the UK, one company ReFood campaigns for preventing food waste from being turned into landfills by 2020. To be concrete, the company collects food waste from homes and businesses compulsory and make use of them as energy or fertilizer. It is estimated that the UK family waste a huge amount of meal a day, which is equivalent to €60 on average. If you convert it into yen, it costs about 7,665 yen.
The land reclaimed from food waste exhausts greenhouse gases, which is one of the major causes of global warming. In addition, if the area of landfills broadened, it will destroy the biodiversity. Also, it can harm the condition of groundwater, and it will contribute to the destruction of aquatic ecosystem.
As you can see, food waste can cause serious problems, which has a possibility of doing harm to human lives. The sooner action to deal with this problem is required. Try to eat meals with no leftover or create compost from wasted food, so we can solve not only the food waste issues but also the environmental problems.

I'm glad to see that you used two good sources to research this perspective on food waste. When you give your presentation in class on this viewpoint remember that you have to do it from first person perspective. So, you will pretend to actually be, for example, the CEO of ReFood or a scientist who researches how food waste emits greenhouse gasses.
